Classroom Mission

     It is my belief that an education is one of the most valuable gifts a person can receive.  I am also a firm believer that everyone is capable of learning.  As a teacher, it is my goal to help every child in the classroom to become a lifelong learner and to help every child reach his or her dreams.   

     The classroom in which I teach is a place where students can feel safe and comfortable.  In order to have a classroom where effective learning takes place, it must be an area in which everyone respects, encourages, and cares for one another.  Every student in the class is valuable, smart, and capable of doing anything they want as long as they believe in themselves.

     In order to reach each student, I use a variety of teaching methods and resources.  Each child possesses multiple bits of intelligence, therefore, they have their own way of learning and retaining material.  It is my goal to help every student feel successful and proud of their progress.  I strive to create a collaborative working environment.  In the classroom, students work independently as well as in dynamic pairs and groups.  I am a firm believer in giving students choices.  When students have a sense of ownership and control over their actions and work, they always shine.
