Special Education Lifeskills (PATHWAYS) Instructional Aide/Paraprofessional

Elementary--Boling ISD or EBISD

*Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs
*Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
*Ability to communicate effectively
*Strong computer skills to implement multiple and diverse programs
*Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training preferred or willing to obtain certification
Experience:
*Experience working with students in a general education setting and/or a special education
setting preferred.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
*Instructional support for various academic content
*Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
*Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
*Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of materials and equipment.
*Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
*Assist in the implementation of identified accommodations, goals and objectives, and
behavior intervention plans.

Student Management:
*Conduct instructional activities as directed by the teacher for individual
students or small groups of students.
*Demonstrate support for student management policy.
*Assume responsibility for learning how to work with student's individual needs.
*Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the
classroom - this may include some campus duties.
*Keep teachers informed of student progress/needs.
