Retired (ret.) Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Arthur Ruiz served in the military for 27 years. During his military experience, ret. CSM Ruiz was often put to the test. His ability to motive and lead others, was key for him and Soldiers to overcome adversity. Today, ret. The Scholarship Committee will consider those students who meet the following eligibility requirements and proof of intent:
- Applicant must be a high school senior
- Applicant or parent/legal guardian must be a Member in good standing with EECU
- Applicant must express on their application his/her intended field of study
- Recipient of scholarship funds must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 to receive annual distribution funds

All applications must be turned into the school’s counselor office by the deadline date of WEDNESDAY, MARCH 1, 2023. THERE SHOULD BE NO EXTRA PAGES ATTACHED TO THIS APPLICATION. Statements must fit in the space provided on the application. Any attachments to the application will be removed and will not be considered as part of the application. All blanks must be completed.
6. Applications must include official transcripts and copies of SAT and ACT scores. If those are not available a PSAT score should be included. Class ranking is important information, and must be certified by school officials. The application covers general information about school, family, college plans, community service, and other Wharton County experiences. - The EEA member must remain a member for the applicant to receive the entirety of the scholarship award. An applicant may apply for both the WCEEA scholarship and the WCEEA 4-H scholarship. The applicant will only be awarded one scholarship.
- Applicants must be high school seniors, registered and attending on of the five Wharton County high schools or home-schooled in the county.
- The person applying must have been an active member of 4-H for at least 4 years and have been enrolled as a Senior 4-H member for a minimum of 3 of the 4 years.
- An applicant may apply for both the Wharton County EEA 4-H Scholarship and the Wharton County EEA Scholarship if the applicant meets the requirements. The applicant will only be awarded one scholarship.

The Cody Thompson Memorial Scholarship Application was established in 2022 in honor of Cody’s life and his character he epitomized while here on earth. He first completed his studies at WCJC and graduated with an Electronics Engineering Technology degree and ultimately pursued his dream of becoming an Aerial Applicator. His work ethic and grit is why priority will be given to those pursuing a career through a technical school or certification program.
1. Graduating Senior from the following counties in Texas: Austin, Colorado, Fayette, Lavaca and Wharton who will further their education through a technical school, certification program or college or university.

Students who demonstrate in their essay their limited resources and need for financial support as well as how a scholarship to WCJC will help them, will be given priority in the selection process.
4. Students must submit a letter of recommendation from a community member, teacher, school employee, or adult friend, who can comment on their character and commitment to attend college if awarded this scholarship.

The Wharton County A&M Club is giving at least $30,000 in scholarships to more than 20 A&M students from Wharton County this year (and we hope to increase those numbers in 2024! Donate now—every dollar counts). This includes:

- Preference is given to students from Brenham High School
- Planned or current college students at Texas public institutions who previously graduated from a high school in a county with a population of less than 60,000, pursuing an engineering or computer science undergraduate degree
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
Eligibility Criteria:
- Graduating seniors of high schools in Texas from counties with populations less than 60,000, who plan to pursue a two-year RN degree at a Texas community college or a four-year BSN degree at a public Texas university
- Preference is given to students from Brenham High School
- Current college students, who previously graduated from a high school in a county with a population of less than 60,000, pursuing a two-year RN degree at Texas community colleges or a four-year BSN degree at a public Texas university (no private or for-profit institutions)
- Students must be pursuing their first undergraduate degree
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (unweighted)
- Applicant must be a son or daughter of an active Knights of Columbus #2500 member in good standing or a deceased member who was in good standing.
- Applicant must be a practical Catholic who has a good religious educational record and active participation in church related activities, programs and services to the community.
- Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of the applicant's participation in Catholic spiritual and education programs.
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior and must meet all qualifications for entry into an accredited College, University Seminary, Convent, Business, Vocational and/or Technical Trade School.
SESPTC treasurer, this one-time $2,000 education scholarship is made available to one deserving public school student in each of the fourteen-member southeastern states.
- Qualifications:
The parent/guardian listed on application had a Gross Taxable Family Income equal to or less than $80,000 for each of the “Past Three Tax Years.” (For the purpose of this scholarship award, the “Past Three Tax Years” is defined as the 2020, 2021 and 2022 tax years.) - The parent/guardian listed on application has been an active employee in public school transportation during the “Past Three Years.” This includes school bus drivers, aides, monitors, mechanics, parts clerks, foremen, managers, trainers, supervisors, directors, and inspectors that work in public education. (For the purpose of this scholarship award, the “Past Three Years” work history requirement is defined as the period since January 1, 2020.)
- The student applicant has at least a 3.0 (B) scholastic average, will graduate from a public high school, and will attend a post-secondary educational institution starting in 2023.
- The scholarship cannot be awarded to any student who has a family member serving on the selection committee.
