Junior High Response to Intervention

Response to Intervention (RTI)
  • the practice of providing research based, scientifically validated interventions/instruction to students who fall below the 25th percentile on universal screenings for math and reading. 
  • on-going weekly progress monitoring to provide data to provide targeted instruction to address specific area(s) of concern
Student Intervention Team
  • meets every six weeks to review student progress
  • determines if student should return to Tier I (classroom instruction), remain in RTI and continue progress monitoring with changes made if necessary, or refer for Special Education Evaluation if student shows little or no progress
