Mrs. Kristie Jones's Resource Class
Class Information & Senate Bill 12 Notice
As of September 1, 2025, Texas Senate Bill 12 is in effect. This legislation requires schools to provide parents and students with clear access to instructional information. In my Math, Reading, and English resource classes, parents have the right to review all instructional materials used in class. If you would like to see textbooks, supplemental resources, or online programs that your child is using, please let me know and I will make those materials available to you.
Resource classes are a mixture of students in 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Each student works at their own educational level while still learning and achieving the same goals and concepts as the general education curriculum. Instruction is adapted to meet individual needs, but students are held to the same learning expectations and standards as their peers in general education.
Grades for each six weeks will be determined by a combination of daily work and test grades. This structure allows students to demonstrate progress through both practice and mastery of skills.
My goal is to provide a supportive learning environment where every student can succeed while ensuring parents remain informed and connected to their child’s education. Please reach out at any time if you would like to review instructional materials or if you have questions about classroom practices, grading, or student supports.
