This past Saturday the EBHS Academic UIL teams competed at the Regional held at Blinn College. The following students medaled: Craig Lanier, 1st place Chemistry, 3rd Place Physics, and 2nd Place overall Science Myranda Hallmark- 5th place overall Science Kadence Hernandez - 5th place Poetry Interpretation Charlsie Atteberry =- 4th place Editorial Sam Potts - 5th Place Copy Editing. Sophie Kirby- 5th in Ready Writing. THSCA Recognition
Please join us in congratulating Christopher Kopecky, East Bernard High School senior, on being named to the THSCA Academic All-State Team. Chris has excelled in the classroom and on track as your district and area 800m champion. He also is the district, area, and regional champion in the 3200m (setting a regional record) as well as the district, area, and regional champion in the 1600m (setting a regional record.) He can now claim another title of 2nd Team Academic All-State to his already impressive resume.
Congratulations, Anna Witte, East Bernard High School senior, on being named to the Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State team. Anna was recognized as a second-team member by the association. Along with being recognized as a member of the all-state team, she was an Area and Regional meet qualifier in the 3200 and 1600 meter runs.
Congratulations to these outstanding senior athletes!
BASEBALL GAME TIME CHANGE
Due to issues with lights at the field, we will play the Varsity baseball game tomorrow first with a start time of 4:30. Following our senior night, the JV will play a game until it is called. Thank you for understanding. Go Brahmas!
MARCH OF THE MAROON 2024
What a week for our track athletes at the regional meet in Waco. EB, you have FIVE athletes headed to STATE! Malik Thomas, State bound, Regional Champion in the 300H with a time of 39.34(PR) Malaya Thomas, state bound, Regional Champion, in the 200 m dash. Chris Kopecky, State bound in TWO events and the regional record holder in 1600m with a time of 4:24.07 AND the regional record holder in the 3200m with 9:30.35. Ty Domel, State bound in TWO events, 2nd in shotput and 2nd in discus! Randon Polak, State bound, 2nd in polevault. Girls 1600 relay earned 3rd place. The boys track TEAM won the regional meet! Congratulations to our Brahmarette softball team earning the district co-champion title. To determine playoff seeding, they will play tonight at Sweeny High School at 7pm vs Van Vleck.
