Business Information Management I, students implement personal and interpersonal skills to strengthen individual performance in the workplace and in society and make a successful transition to the workforce and post secondary education. Students apply technical skills to address business applications of emerging technologies, create word-processing documents, develop a spreadsheet, formulate a database, and make an electronic presentation using appropriate software.  (TexasCTE.org)
 
 Course Objectives:
  • Develop skills for success in the workplace
  • Discover how technology is used in the business world
  • Word Processing: produce various business documents and build communication skills
  • Spreadsheet: utilize spreadsheets as a tool for solving business math problems
  • Database: create databases, locate, sort, and organize data to manage information
  • Presentation: utilize presentation software to inform and persuade
  • Desktop Publishing: utilize publishing to create and format a variety of documents
  • Telecommunications: email, the Internet
  • Concept of computer networks
  • Analyze computer operating systems and emerging technologies
  • Utilize a variety of software applications to create a business plan
